On This Day – April 9: Musampa wins it at the death against Liverpool

On April 9 in City history…

1993: Manchester City draw 1-1 with Sheffield United as the 1992-93 Premier League season neared its climax. The 18,000 fans at Bramall Lane were treated to an open, end to end game in which the two sides couldn’t be separated.

2005: City beat Liverpool with a last gasp goal from Kiki Musampa. The 47,000 City fans crammed into the Etihad went home in an ecstatic mood, with the Dutch star scoring a sumptuous volley with just 30 seconds of the match left.
