On This Day – April 5: Ged Brannan strikes in 1-1 draw at Charlton

On April 5 in City history…

1997: Manchester City draw away 1-1 at Charlton Athletic in the old Division One. Ged Brannan scored City’s only goal as the Blues were left frustrated, having to settle for a share of the points.

2003: City are comfortably beaten 2-0 by Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium. Sam Allardyce was in charge that day, with his team pushing for a Champions League place. Thirteen years on, the two clubs fortunes couldn’t be further apart.

Happy Birthday: Dave Wagstaffe (1943-2013)
