City 0-0 Dynamo Kiev: player ratings

JOE HART – 6

A spectator all night, he was given very little to do against a side who struggled to threaten even while needing goals.

PABLO ZABALETA – 6

A steady performance. Not really tested one-on-one, but he provided good support for Navas.

VINCENT KOMPANY – N/A

His latest injury is again a huge blow and could have further damage on our season.

NICOLAS OTAMENDI – N/A

Seemed to be an impact injury and he’ll hopefully be okay for Sunday.

GAEL CLICHY – 7

A candidate for man of the match, he ran tirelessly up and down the left all night, also providing some good crosses into the box.

JESUS NAVAS – 6

Another frustrating display. Hit the post but far too often his final ball was poor, and it will be interesting to see if he keeps his place on Sunday.

FERNANDO – 6

A solid if unspectacular showing. He shields the back four well, and tonight his range of passing was improved.

FERNANDINHO – 6

Similar to Fernando, the Brazil star was rather quiet, almost looking as though he was saving his energy for Sunday.

DAVID SILVA – 7

Looked better tonight, with his touch and passing much better. Positive signs ahead of Sunday’s derby.

YAYA TOURE – 8 (Man of the Match)

An excellent showing from the big man, who ran his socks off and was our driving force in midfield.

SERGIO AGUERO – 7

It just didn’t happen for Sergio tonight, though not for the want of trying. Showed some lovely touches and the Kiev defence struggled to handle him.

SUBS:

MARTIN DEMICHELIS – 6

After a rusty start, he grew into the game, and though any pace he had is all but gone, he can still command the defence.

ELIAQUIM MANGALA – 5

Has to do better in the chances he gets. Far too often he was caught out of position, and his ability on the ball is also poor.

RAHEEM STERLING – N/A

No time to mark.
